for my first real project for this blog – here it is. i went to joann fabrics in san mateo just out of convenience and wound up finding this great mid-weight linen blend in this gorgeous purple color.

i made a modification of my own (well, somewhat) and just didn’t put the tie on the front as the pattern has. i also found that jenny had done the same here.

all i can say is thank goodness she had the foresight to put her errata up on her blog. it would’ve been a much worse experience for me. also – they don’t note in the patterns that 1. they are a complete disaster in printing. and 2. that you will need to trace these buggers before you get started. le sigh.

which, in retrospect, thank goodness i took all of those drafting classes to support myself through college. could you imagine what it would’ve looked like?

in the meantime, everyone loves the skirt – and thus wants one. made for them. we’ll see how well i do on that front.
